The Truth about ATCs and Artist Trading Cards

Artist trading cards existed long before the ATC era. Some were traded in the past, and some were sold. During the early 90's, I had purchased some of them by Boris, Frazetta, Rowena, and many others. Here are a few examples of these cards.

Please take note of the copyright dates on the backs of the cards.

Some of my most recent ATC's. Watercolor and ink.

Gananoque Series

Here are a few landscape portraits of Gananoque, Canada. My mother-in-law took a trip there this summer, and I asked her to take lots of photos for me for my landscape work. These were all done in watercolor and ink.

Ok, here I have a mass of ATC's that I have done over the summer months ( July - Sept ) . I just put them all together here, no special catagories. Most are done in watercolor and ink, with a few being painted in a watercolor/gouache mix.

Lighthouses

All are done in watercolor and ink with the exception of one (the greyscale pic), which is done in aquasketch.

Cats - Watercolor

A few cat cards that I made for a swap. Probably not my best work...but I find it a challenge to use the watered down watercolors on such a small scale while trying to get as much detail as possible.

Flamenco I - APC

Done in watercolor pencil and ink, this is an APC - artist postcard - painted in the 4"x6" size. I think I like the APC size better than the ATC size....at least, I like drawing and painting in the larger size.
